Refund Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
Summary. A MailParse payment is final once it is taken. We return money in three narrow situations, listed in section 4, and in no others. You can parse 3 of your own emails before buying anything, so the extracted fields and the Excel, CSV and JSON exports are visible in advance, and you can switch off renewals from billing settings whenever you like.
1. What a plan pays for
Starter, Plus and Pro are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly. Each one opens access to the parser for a billing period, with the monthly email allowance and features shown on the pricing page. The fee covers that access, not individual parses: it is owed in full whether you process one email in the period, the whole allowance, or nothing.
Paying for a plan is a request to start the service at once. If the law where you live would otherwise give you a withdrawal or cooling-off period, you acknowledge that it ends as soon as we start providing the service at your request.
2. Cancelling and renewals
Every plan renews on its own until you cancel. Cancelling is done in billing settings without writing to anyone, and it takes effect straight away: no later renewal will be charged, and your plan stays active until the paid period runs out. Cancelling is not a refund request.
A new period starts on the renewal date, and from that moment the fee for it is owed. When a card declines the renewal, the operator of our payment system tries the same invoice again over the next days. That is one unpaid invoice being collected, not an extra charge. A renewal collected this way is not refundable, even if you cancelled after the period had already begun, and you keep access until that period ends.
3. Reasons that never lead to a refund
- You changed your mind, or the project you needed MailParse for is finished.
- You parsed fewer emails than the plan allows, or none at all.
- A renewal went through, whether on the first attempt or after a declined card.
- You thought a plan was a one-time purchase. The pricing page, checkout, confirmation email and billing settings all say it renews.
- You forgot to cancel before the renewal date, or cancelled right after it.
- A field was extracted differently than you hoped. Emails vary in layout, and the free test parses exist so you can check results on your own messages first.
- Files that could not be read: damaged or password-protected .eml and .msg files, mailboxes that refused the IMAP connection, or emails with no data to extract.
- A feature that is not on the pricing page, or one that works differently from what you assumed.
- Picking the wrong plan, the wrong billing period, or too many seats.
- The unused remainder of a period after cancelling. We never pro-rate.
- Activity by anyone you shared your login or API key with.
4. The three cases where money goes back
We refund only when one of these applies and our records and the payment records support it, and only up to the amount of the charge concerned.
- Charged twice. A fault in our billing took payment two times for the same period.
- A card used without your permission, proven. You tell us within 14 days of the charge, and the transaction and account records show the payment was not authorised by the cardholder. A statement alone does not settle it. We may ask you to confirm you have reported the misuse to your card issuer.
- MailParse did not work at all. A confirmed fault on our side made parsing completely unavailable for a continuous stretch of time, you told us while it was happening, and we could not repair it. Slow processing, partial problems, and issues with your own files, mailbox, network or browser are not included.
A refund, where granted, goes back only to the card that paid, never exceeds what you paid for the affected period, and is the whole of our liability for it. One refund does not entitle you to another.
5. How to ask
Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account within 14 days of the charge. Include the date and amount, and which case in section 4 applies. Requests made later, or from another address, are not considered. We answer in the order requests arrive, and we do not reopen declined requests.
6. Records we keep
When you sign up you accept our Terms of Service, which include this policy, and our Privacy Policy. Before any charge, the checkout shows the plan, price, billing period and the fact that it renews.
For each subscription we keep the time of purchase, the plan and price shown at checkout, your acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent you about it, and a log of account activity, such as sign-ins, files uploaded, emails parsed, exports downloaded and mailbox connections, with the technical details recorded alongside them. The operator of our payment system keeps its own record of each payment, including the card's country of issue and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. These records are what an unauthorised-charge claim is checked against.
7. Chargebacks
If a charge looks wrong, email us first. Opening a chargeback without contacting us breaches our Terms of Service. When one is opened, we send the records above to the card issuer and close the account permanently.
8. Earlier purchases
Subscriptions bought before October 14, 2026 keep the refund terms that applied on the day of purchase.
